golden fortune strand — maker’s notes

i pulled this palette together from yellow jade, jasper, serpentine, and transparent gold-luster glass. serpentine can be hard to use — its chartreuse shades are tricky — but here it matched beautifully with leftover jade and glass beads. i strung it into a long continuous necklace, earthy with flashes of metallic light. while building it i thought about old rosaries i’d seen in my catholic school days — beads not expensive, but chosen and handled with devotion. i wanted to bring that same seriousness into a piece that could be worn anywhere, formal or casual. finishing it and seeing the palette click was deeply satisfying.

materials/specs: yellow jade · jasper · serpentine · gold-luster stained glass · ~50″ continuous strand
