mookaite + howlite sunset strand — maker’s notes
mookaite only comes from australia and it shows up in a wild spectrum of colors: ivory, ochre, maroon, near-black, streaked sunset tones. i paired it with howlite, which is calmer and steady, to anchor the palette. i built this strand scrappy but deliberate, using the last fragments of fine mookaite i had. the colors moved from reds through creams, with earthy streaks running between. this was a grief build for me — i made it after a major personal loss, working bead by bead because that’s all i could do. it’s a one-off that carries weight beyond its materials.
materials/specs: mookaite jasper (multi-color) · howlite · ~50″ continuous strand · one-of-a-kind from limited stash
